As humans we are prone to several diseases and infections. Some of us have the immunity that is very strong that can make our bodies strong enough to overcome them, while there are some of us who need remedies at the tip of our finger tips. The daily life and its tantrums have left us bewildered and there is hardly any time to give ourselves the require time we need. There comes a compromise and negligence. Due to these, we face the wrath of the nature of life and suffer as well.

So, here are some of the best remedies to some common problems for which we do not need to rush to see the doctor at the drop of a hat.

Headaches:

As common as flu, this happens due to several reasons. Constant strain and stress can lead to a severe headache and leave you baffled with the pain. People prone to headaches face them quite frequently. The natural ways to cure this pain is to limit any intake of alcohol and drink more water. A cold compress soothes the pain as well. Natural remedies include special teas and oils. Cha Soul Organic Herbal Tea comes highly recommended! Not only does it help soothes one mood but also help with any aches and pain. The last recommended option, for instant reliefs, you can opt for a painkiller. This is not too recommended due to its side effects and addiction.

RECOMMENDED:

Minor burns:

We all have faced these minor burns while lighting a lamp, cooking or even bursting firecrackers. The instant hack is putting your hand right under a cold-water tap and let it cool down a bit. Applying some toothpaste will get the situation under control and keep the blisters away. To dim the redness, rub some rice over the burnt area. Natural remedies include Aloe Vera and honey. Use a high percentage of aloe Vera. Avoid products with coloring, perfumes or additives. Apply a layer of Aloe Vera or organic raw honey directly to affected area.

Aches and pain:

The most common pains we all experience as we get up in age are knee and back pain. This problem has crept into the middle age as well. There are many people who suffer from knee and back problems these days. Due to the lack of calcium in the body, the bones get worn out and give rise to these problems that take a serious turn later. Resting your knee, a bit and applying ice to the area of pain will give it some cooling effect. Next is to put a compressive bandage on it and leaving it a bit elevated will do the cure. For a more natural remedy see recommended under headaches.

Exercises are the best for curing back pain. Sitting with your spine straight and doing some light back arching will help you cure the back pains gradually. The twists and rowing can also help build up the muscles to support the stretches. For a more natural remedy see recommended under headaches.

Nausea:

The best way to treat nausea is to have ginger. Ginger has natural qualities that reduce the dizziness and makes you feel better. Most people are well acquainted with nausea. This can happen to anybody due to eating wrong or dehydration as well. Pregnant women too suffer from nausea frequently. The compounds of ginger work like anti-nausea medicines and you feel a bit better. Living in a time where convenience is very important, we recommend the Ginger Chews.

RECOMMENDED:

Bloated Tummy:

Bloated Tummy happens mainly because of acidity. Drinking water in adequate amounts and having peppermints help in reducing it. Sometimes an antacid works too. To look out for natural remedies, one of our favorite products to use for a bloated or upset tummy is Bragg's very own Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar. Apple Cider Vinegar is often used to help with weight loss. Our first time ever using it, my daughter and I lost 10+ pounds with little effort. It is also a great energy booster! This may be a surprise, but lemon is also a key ingredient. Lemons help release any water weight. Lastly, a remedy that has been used for centuries is applying a heating pad over the tummy works wonders and helps you get a relief a bit. If you are suffering from constipation, taking a laxative too works.

RECOMMENDED:

Allergies:

This can happen to one and to all. Allergies appear because of several factors. Skin infections and skin eruptions are common for people with sensitive skin. A blend of honey, sugar and apple cider vinegar will help it cool down and reduce the spots and acne on the skin. Aloe Vera is a wonderful, element and it works like a miracle curing these infections and allergies. Applying some ice will help you reduce the redness of the area.

RECOMMENDED:

Colds and flu:

Cough and cold are common and can affect a person quite adversely. Sweating in the summers and catching cold is quite known among people. While the dry winters make your throat sore and voice cracked. Having warm water with honey helps you get some relief. Honey prevents dehydration and loosens congestion. Some warm liquids like soup and coffee help you reduce the irritation and the constant urge to sneeze. Ginger tea too is a great option.

RECOMMENDED: Please see above remedies

Skin problems:

There are a variety of skin conditions, including Eczema, Acne and more common just itchy, dry skin. The most common remedies are moisturizer/oil and medications. Unfortunately, Eczema, acne and skin rashes is a huge issue for our entire family. After spending hundreds of dollars on various dermatologist, the natural remedies are what help the most. One of my absolute favorite products come highly recommended - Sky Organics Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. This is commonly used in our household for multiple benefits and can even benefit your pet! They also make great gifts! My Mother was very excited to get her own bottle for Mother's day this year. Directions are simple, just rub this oil in the effected area daily and possibly see a difference within days (Some loves to eat a spoonful and use it in recipes).

RECOMMENDED:

These are a small fraction of the best home remedies that can help with our day-to-day lives. Rushing to the doctor has taken a back seat due to these natural remedies and save one hundred, even thousands of dollars. Please note that we are NOT doctors or health professionals, and are not giving you medical advice. These are simply remedies we've tried or know someone personally, who has tried them. They have been proven to work, but we are not guaranteed they will for everyone. We recommend consulting a Doctor if you do not feel comfortable trying them or have allergies to any of the ingredients.

Your gut

The modern Western diet of processed foods, excess sugar and dairy can wreak havoc on the bacteria balance in your gut, leading to a range of symptoms. “The gut is often inflamed by the foods and substances we eat, such as artificial sweeteners, preservatives and hydrogenated oils,” says Vincent Pedre, MD, internist, functional medicine certified practitioner and author of Happy Gut: The Cleansing Program to Help You Lose Weight, Gain Energy, and Eliminate Pain. “During a cleanse, the body has time to turn off the fire in the gut and rebalance the gut microbiomes.” After just a week of a clean-eating detox, you’ll likely notice an improvement in digestion issues—from a decrease in bloating and gas to an increase in healthy bowel movements. While simply eliminating the “Big Five” will lower stress on your gut and provide nourishment, you may need to help repopulate your gut with good bacteria by popping a probiotic. Getting your gut in order can lead to a range of improvements from your mood and sleep to your digestion, skin and allergies.

Your liver

The liver’s function is to detox your body, but sometimes it needs help, too. “The issue is that when we’re constantly under stress or our toxin intake is higher than our body can keep up with, we end up storing toxins and creating both fat and inflammation,” explains Elson Haas, MD, founder of the Preventive Medical Center of Marin and author of Ultimate Immunity. During a detox, the liver finally gets the chance to more effectively do its job, like turning toxins into substances the body can excrete, according to Kaila Nguyen, a naturopathic doctor at the Origin Health Center in Oakland, Calif. “With the right herbs and vitamins, the detox process can even help to burn up the fat in the liver to help it function better.” In her practice, Nguyen relies on a range of herbs including dandelion root and milk thistle seed, as well as choline, methionine and B vitamins. Your liver will start saying thank you within a week of a detox diet, says Carolyn Dean, MD, ND, a nutritional expert and author of The Complete Natural Medicine Guide to Women’s Health.

Your skin

Once your body starts flushing out toxins, your skin may actually look worse before it looks better. “There may be an initial detox with rashes and hives,” says Dean, “but that will clear, and the skin tone and color will improve over time.” The skin can excrete the toxins such as DDT, lead and cadmium that normally like to reside in the skin, says Nguyen. Within two weeks, though, you’ll begin to see skin improvements. Oil production will lower, acne will begin to disappear and you’ll start to notice clearer, brighter skin, says Pedre.

Your brain

Your brain is likely to see a number of improvements on a detox diet, but not in the first day or two. “The most common symptom showing withdrawal from these foods and substances is typically a headache behind the eyes or pressing into the temples,” says Pedre. “This is often accompanied by mental fog, which may last for a couple of days.” But hang in there. It gets better by day three. By then, “you’ll start feeling a little clearer and lighter. Your energy will pick up and your symptoms will diminish,” says Haas. By the end of the first week, you can expect a decrease in headaches and an improvement in mental clarity, memory, concentration and focus. This brain boost is due in large part to balancing your gut, explains Pedre. “There is a direct relationship between gut health and the brain.”

Your mood

In general, people don’t like depriving themselves, so eliminating our morning mocha or afternoon candy binge can be a mood buster. “Sugar is much more emotional for people to give up,” Haas explains. “It’s a comfort food and reward food.” The key, says Haas, is to maintain a positive attitude and give yourself kudos for beginning a healthy habit. The first few days might be more of an emotional bummer, but within a few days and definitely by the first week, you’ll notice a change for the positive. And by week two you’ll see improvements in your sleep, energy and how your clothes fit.

Remember, a detox doesn’t have to be forever. “Think of a clean-eating diet as a vacation for your body,” Haas says. “When you go on a vacation, you sleep better, feel better and come back with a whole better attitude and energy. That’s what can happen with a detox. It allows your liver to clean up the junk. It allows your fat to dump toxins.” In other words, a detox is a reset, which allows your body to better handle stress, break down food and keep you energized for the year ahead.

Detoxing the Body

While eating a good diet full of real super-foods, it is important to detoxify the body first. This helps rest the organs from the laborious processes. The liver gets optimized and better suited to detoxify the body. Detoxifying also ensures that the body can take in healthy nutrients. There are many ways of detoxing including eating super-foods themselves. However, it is more effective to do detox methods such as juice cleanse, sugar detox, hypoallergenic detox first. The aim of effective detox programs is to deny the body of harmful substances through fasting.

Our bodies are exposed to various toxins including by way of water (fluoride and other chemicals), air (chemical trails, pollution and other toxins), food (chemicals, pesticides, preservatives, genetically modified ingredients etc.), pharmaceuticals and other drugs.

True healing requires a detoxification of both the mind and the body.

Below are 10 ways you can help your body detoxify naturally so it can flush out some of the everyday toxins to which it's exposed:

1. Start the day with a glass of spring water and the juice of one freshly squeezed lemon.

This helps flush out the toxins and alkalizes the body. Alternatively, you can add a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to a glass of spring water. Hippocrates treated his patients with apple cider vinegar. He found it was a powerful cleansing and healing elixir, a naturally occurring antibiotic and antiseptic that fights germs and bacteria, for a healthier, stronger, and longer life.

Don’t forget to drink plenty of water throughout the day to continue flushing out the toxins.

2. Drink a freshly made vegetable juice daily.

Include lots of greens such as kale, spinach and cilantro. I love to start my day with a juice made with apples, carrot, lemon, ginger, turmeric, beetroot, kale and cilantro. When the seasons change, some of my ingredients will also change.

3. Eliminate toxic oils from your diet.

Toxic oils can include vegetable oil, peanut oil, sunflower oil, cotton seed oil and canola oil. Substitute with good oils, such as extra-virgin olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, hemp oil and flaxseed oil. Hemp oil, for example, is a great source of omega-3s, -6s, and -9s.

4. Drink green tea and herbal teas such as dandelion, nettles etc. These teas help the body detoxify and clear out toxins.

5. Eat more raw fruits, herbs and vegetables. Fruit, vegetables and herbs contain enzymes that aid digestion and improve nutrient absorption.

6. Minimize or eliminate white sugar intake. Also avoid substitutes that contain toxic artificial sweeteners, and opt for natural versions such as stevia, honey, coconut sugar, date sugar, molasses, or maple syrup.

7. Minimize or eliminate white flour and white breads. White flour is like adding glue in the body, and it overworks the digestive system. It can cause digestive disorders, and it can make it difficult to have normal bowel movements. Substitute white flour for other flours such as spelt flour, kamut flour, quinoa flour, brown rice flour, buckwheat flour or cornmeal. Switch from white bread to whole grain bread.

8. Take a probiotic supplement. You can also eat foods that contain live cultures, such as cultured vegetables, Greek yogurt, or kefir. The beneficial bacteria kill harmful bacteria and yeasts and help to heal the lining of the intestines.

9. Eat legumes and less meat, fish and poultry. Legumes are a great source of protein and the fiber in beans helps keep the bowels eliminating properly.

10. Breath deeply, walk, smile, laugh, be happy and remove toxic people out of your life. Find the positive in every day and move your body. This will all help to reduce stress and the stress chemicals in your body.
